Kaspiysk Again Attacked: Was the Ukrainian Drone Targeting "Dagdizel" Shipyard? Or Trying to Break Into the Fleet's Base?

The attack has already been repelled.

On the morning of December 1, an explosion occurred in a residential building in Kaspiysk. The residential building is adjacent to the "Dagdizel" (Дагдизель) shipyard. The explosion caused at least 16 cars in the parking lot to be damaged. Emergency services, paramedics, and police have arrived at the scene to carry out work. The area of the incident has been sealed off, and personnel are conducting structural integrity checks on the residential building.

The Telegram channel "Spring of Russia War Correspondent" reported that the local government had issued a warning about a drone attack during the night. This event may have been a Ukrainian drone falling onto the roof of the building, but the attack itself was prevented, with the target being shot down over Kaspiysk.

The website "Lenta.ru" published a video showing an object falling onto the roof of the building, followed by an explosion.

Previously, local media reported that staff saw an object resembling a drone just before the explosion. According to their assessment, the drone may have been shot down, and its fragments fell onto the roof, causing at least 30 windows inside the building to be damaged.

RIA Novosti quoted the news office of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Dagestan: "Doctors at the Children's Clinical Hospital of the Republic of Dagestan are treating a girl who was injured in the drone attack in Kaspiysk. The 12-year-old child suffered minor superficial injuries to the chest, and her life and health are not in danger."

The mayor of Kaspiysk, Boris Gontsov (Борис Гонцов), stated: "The relevant law enforcement agencies are working. The situation is currently under control, and all departments are performing their duties normally."

The head of the Republic of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov (Сергей Меликов), wrote in his Telegram channel: "Today, Russia successfully prevented the Ukrainian drone attack. The aerial target was shot down over Kaspiysk."

Emergency services have arrived at the scene, and all government agencies are operating according to the emergency command mechanism. Currently, all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of citizens and the normal operation of facilities..."

The prosecutor's office of the Republic of Dagestan has intervened to monitor the protection of the rights of citizens injured in the drone attack:

"The prosecutor's office of the Republic of Dagestan is monitoring the protection of citizens' rights in the drone attack in Kaspiysk. It has already established cooperation with the relevant departments to ensure timely assistance to the victims."

It should be noted that Kaspiysk is the main base of the Russian Navy's Caspian Fleet, located 15 kilometers from Makhachkala.

The city has deployed coastal forces (including marines), fuel and arms warehouses, and about 1,500 troops stationed there. In addition to the Caspian Fleet forces, the ships and speedboats of the Federal Security Service Border Guard Corps and the helicopter squadrons of the Southern Military District also use Kaspiysk as their base.

This is not the first time that Kaspiysk has been attacked. In November last year, two modified A-22 "Letuchaya Lisiца" (Летучая лисица) aircraft, which were converted into attack drones, attacked this naval base. One of them was shot down and exploded near the target, and the debris injured a minor girl; the other hit the target area (suspected to be aimed at the "Bandit-M" class small missile ship), but did not cause substantial damage.

At that time, the Ukrainian attack could only be repelled by light weapons, and the incident received widespread attention in the media.

In addition, according to information from the Russian Ministry of Defense, during the night from Sunday to Monday, the Russian air defense forces shot down a total of 32 drones in several regions of Russia. Among them, 4 each were shot down in Belgorod Oblast, Bryansk Oblast, Novgorod Oblast, Rostov Oblast, and Krasnodar Krai; 3 each were shot down in the Azov Sea area and Leningrad Oblast; 2 were shot down in Voronezh Oblast; and 1 each was shot down in Volgograd Oblast, Kursk Oblast, Smolensk Oblast, and Tula Oblast.
