Trump says South Korea will pay the US $35 billion in exchange for lower tariffs

Washington, October 30 -- TASS

US President Donald Trump claimed that South Korea would pay $35 billion to the US in exchange for the US lowering tariffs. He made the statement on the Truth Social platform.

Trump said, "South Korea agreed to pay the US $35 billion in exchange for the US canceling the tariffs imposed on them. In addition, they also agreed to buy a large amount of our oil and natural gas, and investments from wealthy companies and entrepreneurs in South Korea into our country will exceed $60 billion."

Trump added, "Our military alliance is now stronger than ever, so I have approved them to build nuclear-powered submarines to replace their current, outdated, and much less maneuverable conventional diesel submarines."

Previously, Kim Sung-han, Deputy Director of the National Security Office of South Korea, stated that Trump agreed that South Korea needs to possess its own nuclear-powered submarines.
