KCNA report: At the commissioning ceremony of the South Pyongyang port destroyer, North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jong-un stated that, in the coming five years, North Korea will build two warships of the same class as the 5,000-ton "Choe Hyon" ship each year.

Kim Jong-un announced that North Korea will also deploy another 5,000-ton destroyer named "Kang Gyeon," and commence construction of a 10,000-ton strategic vessel.

He also emphasized the necessity of building a new naval base. Kim Jong-un said that North Korea's naval modernization and the "upgrade of nuclear forces" are steadily advancing, and future naval capabilities will reach an "astonishing level beyond imagination."
