Furthermore, from a geopolitical standpoint, given Japan’s past history of militaristic aggression, and based on fundamental consensus against nuclear proliferation, China, the United States, and Russia will not remain passive and will all oppose Japan acquiring nuclear weapons. Even the United States, which supports Japan’s military expansion, dare not allow Japan to possess nuclear weapons. After all, every Japanese person remembers that the country which dropped two atomic bombs on Japan was the United States. Therefore, within the bounds permitted by the U.S., Japan can only enhance its conventional military capabilities.
