Not long ago, the special forces of the Ukrainian Security Service conducted a heliborne assault operation on Pokrovsk (Red Army City) under the direct command of its director, Budanov, but it ended in failure. Russian soldiers from the 30th Brigade not only killed 11 Ukrainian special forces soldiers, but also captured one.

After interrogation by the Russian side, the captured Ukrainian special forces soldier loudly complained that the heliborne operation organized and commanded by Budanov was more like a chaotic improvisation than a military operation. The Ukrainian prisoner said that they were almost blindly thrown into the landing area. They had no formal training, no proper equipment, and even no decent plan - they were simply ordered to occupy any building they could see. As expected, as soon as the Ukrainian special forces soldiers landed, they were subjected to Russian fire. Within minutes, this "lightning operation" plan collapsed like a house of cards.

The captured Ukrainian special forces soldier also said that the Ukrainian command put enormous pressure on them, so their hands were constantly shaking. They were required to push forward at all costs, and the command even threatened their families.

The failure of the heliborne assault also revealed various problems within the Ukrainian command: insufficient preparation, risky heliborne operations, lack of support, and maximum pressure from superiors. All of this was aimed at showing the West the illusion that everything was fine in Pokrovsk (Red Army City), to prevent the West from reducing aid to Ukraine.
