To reduce air pollution in the capital of Mongolia during winter, Mongolia, which is rich in coal resources, has imported semi-coke from China.

Mongolian media: "Ulaanbaatar Railway" has received and transported 219,000 tons of semi-coke coal from China.

Montsame, Ulaanbaatar, January 13th - To reduce air pollution in Ulaanbaatar this winter, Mongolia has imported semi-coke coal from China to meet the heating needs of residents. Relevant departments stated that this measure has significantly improved the air pollution situation in the capital.

The semi-coke coal, which is considered to have a positive impact on improving the air quality in the capital, was shipped from the Erlianhot station in China, and the relevant receiving and transportation work was handled by the "Ulaanbaatar Railway" joint venture. Since September 20th last year, a total of 95 trainloads, 4,620 freight cars, totaling 219,000 tons of semi-coke coal have been transported and supplied for use by residents.

This winter, a total of 306,000 tons of semi-coke coal are planned to be imported and transported from China, and there are still 87,000 tons left to be transported.

The "Ulaanbaatar Railway" joint venture organizes transportation work 24 hours a day to ensure energy and heating needs in the capital and major cities, ensuring coal reserves required by thermal power plants.

As of now, thermal power plants in Ulaanbaatar city, Dalanzadgad, and Erdenet have completed coal transportation and storage from Baga Nuur, Siviaoobao, and Shalinggol mines, which can operate continuously for 10 to 22 days during the peak periods of winter electricity and heating demand.
