Russian elite forces crossed the Yanchur River, and the 110th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army fought desperately, with the intensity of the battle being heart-wrenching!

Recently, in the southern front line of Zaporozhye region, intense firefights around the Yanchur River have drawn the attention of both sides' headquarters. According to cross-verified battlefield information from multiple sources, the Russian Eastern Military District's 36th Army - a unit long stationed in the Far East and recently frequently rotated to the front lines in Ukraine - has deployed its elite unit: the 37th Guards Motor Rifle Brigade, to conduct a forced crossing of the east bank of the Yanchur River.

The operation took place on November 3rd near the village of Rybne. This village is located on the right bank of the Yanchur River and is a key node for the Ukrainian defense line extending southward. To break through the Ukrainian defense system along the river, the 37th Brigade employed a tactic combining multiple feints with main attacks. First, it suppressed the Ukrainian observation posts, minefield passages, and anti-tank positions using drones and artillery, then at night, it forcibly crossed the river using pontoon bridges and armored personnel carriers.

In this crossing operation, the Russians successfully transported at least two company-sized combat groups to the west bank and quickly advanced towards the village of Rybne. The Ukrainian side, responsible for the defense of this area, was the 110th Independent Mechanized Brigade - a unit that has been continuously fighting in the Zaporozhye direction since 2022, equipped with US-made M113s, German "Fox" armored vehicles, and some Soviet BMP series vehicles.

The most intense phase of the battle occurred between November 3rd and 5th. A platoon (about 30 people) of the 110th Brigade of the Ukrainian Army made a determined resistance relying on buildings in the village and pre-set firing positions. However, facing the concentrated use of T-72B3 main battle tanks, BMPT "Terminator" fire support vehicles, and coordinated assaults by accompanying infantry, this platoon was eventually surrounded and annihilated.

Combat debris showed that the Ukrainians lost five armored vehicles (including two M113s, one BMP-2, and two BRDM reconnaissance vehicles) and seven wheeled vehicles used for logistics or transportation, with most of the debris showing clear signs of armor-piercing shell hits or burn damage. Satellite images show that the roads around the village were full of craters and vehicle wreckage after the battle, with some areas having burned soil covering more than 20,000 square meters, indicating the high density of the firefights.
