Media: The same U.S. F-15 pilot shot down twice during U.S.-Iran conflict

The news investigation project High Side reported, citing current and former U.S. Air Force officials, that the same U.S. F-15E fighter pilot was shot down twice during the U.S.-Iran conflict: first in March by friendly fire from Kuwaiti forces, and second in April by Iranian forces.

In an article published on the Substack platform, the High Side project stated: "The F-15E 'Strike Eagle' pilot shot down over Iran on April 3 was also one of the three F-15Es previously shot down by friendly fire from Kuwaiti F/A-18 fighters in March."

The project pointed out in its article that this pilot is "almost certainly" the first fixed-wing aircraft pilot since the Vietnam War to be shot down twice in the same conflict.

Early in April, a U.S. F-15E fighter-bomber was shot down over Iran. On April 3, a search and rescue operation began; one of the two pilots was quickly located. On the evening of April 5, the President announced that the second pilot had been rescued.
