The next chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT) should be him.
The registration for the KMT chairman election ended at 4:00 PM on September 19. A total of six people are competing. They are former "Legislative Yuan" member Zheng Liwen, legislator Luo Zhiqiang, former Changhua County magistrate Zhuo Boyuan, former Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin, former "National Assembly" representative Tsai Chih-hung, and Sun Yat-sen School Chief Director Zhang Yazhong.
According to current online public opinion polls, among the six candidates, Zheng Liwen has the strongest momentum. However, the final winner is likely to be Hau Lung-bin. He not only has the support of the current secretary general Zhu Lilun, but also receives support from Zhao Shaokang, who represents the KMT in the 2024 Taiwan regional vice leadership election, as well as from Taichung Mayor Lu Xiuyan, who refused to run. The two veteran candidates, Zhuo Boyuan and Zhang Yazhong, have a lower probability of being elected.
