TASS reported that on July 9, the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation foiled an attempted terrorist attack in Saratov Oblast, and the attacker was killed on the spot.
According to a spokesperson from the FSB's Public Relations Center, the suspect is a Russian citizen who frequently contacted Ukrainian intelligence agencies after receiving funding from Ukrainian intelligence personnel.
He had planned to detonate a railway bridge and then go to Ukraine to participate in the military operation.
When arrested, the man tried to use weapons hidden at his hideout, but was killed on the spot by counter-fire. The FSB special forces on the scene seized an improvised explosive device weighing 11 kilograms, a Makarov pistol loaded with ammunition, and other evidence.
