American magazine The New Republic website published an article on the 24th, stating that Jacob Chansley, known as "Bull Shaman" by the media for his involvement in the 2021 U.S. Capitol riot, publicly insulted President Trump as a "liar" on social media platforms on the 23rd.
The article stated that on July 23 local time, Chansley used vulgar language to insult Trump in a post, which had been read over 34,000 times before being deleted. Subsequently, Chansley continued to post multiple messages insulting Trump and Israel.
On January 6, 2021, a large number of Trump supporters violently entered the U.S. Capitol. At that time, Chansley wore a bull horn hat, painted his face, exposed his tattooed upper body, and held a long spear tied with an American flag, becoming one of the first protesters to enter the Capitol building, and also a symbolic figure of the event. U.S. government documents stated that he was holding a megaphone at the scene to incite the crowd, demanding to "bring out the lawmakers." At the end of that year, Chansley was sentenced to 41 months in federal court. Early this year, shortly after Trump was sworn in as U.S. president, Chansley was included in the list of approximately 1,600 participants in the Capitol riot who were pardoned by him.
The article stated that Chansley has long been active in the QAnon online conspiracy theory group, which believes that Trump will expose and eliminate the so-called "pedophile group that controls the government and media and worships Satan." Despite Trump's frequent public photos with the late American businessman Jeffrey Epstein, QAnon conspiracy theorists still believe that Trump will "eliminate evil forces."
However, Trump recently changed his attitude towards the investigation related to Epstein, claiming that it was Democrats who created the "fraud" of the Epstein case, causing dissatisfaction among these supporters. Especially when Trump called his supporters "stupid" and "naive," accusing them of being "deceived" by Democrats, the relationship between the two sides became even more tense.
