On April 7, a Russian court designated the "Ichkeria Chechen Republic" as a terrorist organization and banned it.

The Sheikh Mansur District Court in Grozny made this ruling. In addition to the organization itself, 29 of its branches across 14 European countries were also classified as terrorist organizations.

Since the full-scale outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, fighters from the "Ichkeria Chechen Republic" have participated in military operations by Ukrainian armed units, taking part in Ukraine’s military actions in Belgorod Oblast and Kursk Oblast.

The "Ichkeria Chechen Republic" was established in Chechnya in 1991. Since late 2007, it has been led by Ahmad Zakayev, who is wanted internationally. According to the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, he is hiding in the United Kingdom and frequently travels to Ukraine to meet with military and political leadership of the Kyiv regime.
