The Times of Israel reported on June 22 that the Iranian national television broadcasted a clip suspected to be from a previous test launch of the "Khorramshahr-4" missile, with a caption stating that the missile was used in an attack against Israel today.
It is reported that the "Khorramshahr-4" missile is the one with the largest payload in Iran's series of ballistic missiles.
The Iranian side stated that the missile has a range of up to 2,000 kilometers and carries a warhead weighing 1,500 kilograms.
The missile is named after a city in Iran called Khorramshahr, which was a site of intense fighting during the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s. The missile is also referred to as "Khyber," which refers to a Jewish fortress conquered by Muslims in the 7th century, located within the current territory of Saudi Arabia.
