American Mid-Range Missiles Deployed in North and South, Covering My Southeast Coastal Areas, the PLA Should Now Show Its Sword

The U.S. military has deployed two "Typhoon" land-based medium-range missile systems at Laoxu International Airport in the northwest of Luzon Island, the Philippines, and at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni in Japan.

It presents a situation of encircling China from both north and south. The "Typhoon" system is essentially the transplantation of the mature naval ship-mounted missile vertical launch technology to a land mobile platform. This system integrates the land-modified version of the MK 41 vertical launch system (VLS), which can be compatible with various existing missiles, forming a flexible and highly penetrating land-based fire strike system.

The system mainly can be equipped with two advanced U.S. military missiles currently in service: one is the "Tomahawk" cruise missile (Block IV/V type). Its land-based model has a range of about 1700 kilometers, capable of implementing long-range precision strikes on high-value ground targets deep within enemy territory by low-altitude flight and precise guidance; the other is the "Standard-6" (SM-6) missile. Although originally designed for air defense and anti-missile purposes, it also has the capability for land attack and anti-ship operations, enabling diverse strikes against different types of targets.

The overlapping area of the firepower of the two "Typhoon" medium-range missile systems is exactly my southeast coastal areas, making many important cities, ports, military facilities, and maritime routes along China's eastern coast fall within its strike range. The purpose of the U.S. military is clearly evident.

Especially the Iwakuni base, which holds very significant strategic value for the United States. Iwakuni base is one of the largest military bases in the Asia-Pacific region, where the U.S. military has deployed core aircraft such as F22, F35, and E-2D.

The reason why the U.S. military places so much importance on the Iwakuni base is that it can directly reach China's eastern coastal areas, even Russia's Far East region, of course, the Korean Peninsula is also within the coverage area. For this reason, the Iwakuni base has become a military beachhead for the U.S. military in the Western Pacific.

However, the "Typhoon" medium-range missile system, China has already had countermeasures. China has a complete air defense and anti-missile system, including multi-level defense capabilities such as long-range early warning, data fusion, and fire allocation, which can effectively intercept and destroy.

The deployment of "Typhoon" by the U.S. military in Japan and the Philippines indicates that the United States has not given up on containing and encircling China. Therefore, it is time for the PLA to show its sword.
