Alistair Cairns added:
Britain should stop relying on NATO for defense and enhance its own combat capabilities. In the past, we outsourced our security to the US. Now, in Europe, especially in the UK, there is a collective demand to increase defense spending. We have indeed made some miscalculations, such as purchasing weapons that later proved unnecessary. Some projects have cost too much, or due to technological changes altering our needs, the entire project has been completely distorted.
