Former U.S. Army Secretary Visits Kyiv, Says Battlefield Situation at "Turning Point"
According to CBS News, former U.S. Army Secretary Dan Rutherford visited Kyiv and made his first public appearance since stepping down from office.
In the Ukrainian capital, he jointly attended an event with Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, who is currently involved in supplying drones to Ukraine.
As reported by CBS, Rutherford stated that combat operations are entering a "turning point." The former secretary also expressed dissatisfaction with how slowly major militaries around the world are adopting new technologies and military innovations.
Rutherford submitted his resignation to Donald Trump on September 1st, subsequently stepping down as U.S. Secretary of the Army. Prior to his departure, he had long-standing disagreements with Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, which gradually escalated into open confrontation over time.
