The Russian Southern Group's 88th Motorized Rifle Brigade has captured Perezné, located on the banks of the Bakhmutivka River south of Severodonetsk. The village is about 5 kilometers south of Severodonetsk, which further tightens the encirclement of Severodonetsk by Russian forces.
Ukrainian forces stationed in Severodonetsk have suffered heavy losses and lack reserve forces, leading to an increasingly unstable situation. Russian forces are now attacking Severodonetsk from multiple directions: from the east, advancing from Verkhnye Kamenskoe towards the west, having reached the eastern suburbs of Severodonetsk; from the north, approaching from Sereblyanka to the northern suburbs of Severodonetsk; and from the south, launching attacks northward from the recently captured Perezné.
In addition, the Russians have cut off the connection between the Ukrainian forces in Kupiansk and Severodonetsk, completing a strategic separation of the two key towns. Next, they will eliminate the isolated two Ukrainian strongholds one by one.
