Foreign Media: Chinese researchers have proposed a new academic evaluation method that does not rely on the traditional "impact factor," launching the "Dongbi Index" ranking covering 4,027 medical journals and 3,064 life science journals, selected from over 40,000 journals worldwide.
This system was jointly developed by Shenzhen Dongbi Data Company and the Institute of Medical Information, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, employing a multidimensional, multilayered evaluation framework centered on research quality. Data shows that Chinese researchers have contributed nearly one-third of global academic papers in the life sciences field; experts believe this is part of China's efforts to strengthen its "academic voice."
