The Russian Foreign Minister will visit North Korea from the 11th to the 13th.
According to a report by the North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on the 9th, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit North Korea from the 11th to the 13th at the invitation of the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
KCNA did not reveal the purpose of Lavrov's visit, but it is expected that he will hold talks with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui. In addition, he may also meet with North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un.
During his visit to North Korea, Lavrov is expected to discuss the matter of Kim Jong-un's visit to Russia. When Russian President Putin visited North Korea in June last year, he had invited Kim Jong-un to visit Moscow.
The two sides may also discuss the situation in the Middle East, such as the U.S. bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities, as well as other international hotspots.
This will be Lavrov's second visit to North Korea in more than a year since he accompanied President Putin to visit North Korea in June last year.
