Just saw that someone posted that 300,000 tons of Argentine soybeans were returned because it was found to be U.S. "origin-washed" soybeans. After asking Baidu, I discovered that Sina Finance reported on this matter in the article "China's Import of U.S. Soybeans Decreased by Over 70,000 Tons Last Week, as China Customs Locked Down the U.S. 'Origin-Washing' Channel." It seems this is not baseless speculation.

According to reports, China Customs has jointly established a global first blockchain traceability platform with major soybean suppliers such as Brazil and Argentina. This ensures that every batch of imported soybeans has their entire data from planting to transportation recorded in a "digital archive," allowing for precise identification and interception of these "origin-washed" soybeans. In addition, 200,000 tons of "Brazilian soybeans" suspected of being origin-washed were also intercepted and returned in March.

I believe this is a Chinese approach. Unlike the U.S., we have been carefully and solidly preparing for this for over seven years, covering everything from product traceability to supply alternatives for American goods. We are not caught off guard when trade wars occur. Now, with Trump's tariff world war, we remain steadfast because of such thorough preparations.

Because of these thorough preparations, we can block American "origin-washed" goods, hitting Americans where it hurts in the tariff war; because of these thorough preparations, we can immediately find alternative goods when over $100 billion worth of American goods are cut off, without fear of inflation causing hardship to people's lives after supply disruptions. In contrast, Walmart tried to shift the cost of the tariff war onto Chinese enterprises but gave up after less than 20 days, showing that American society has never seriously prepared for a tariff war.

If Walmart, with its scale, cannot replace Chinese goods, then where will the U.S. go to replace $600 billion worth of Chinese goods? Those economists who open their mouths and think Chinese goods are easily replaceable do not understand the essence and laws of economic operations at all.
