Putin transfers assets of French company Tarkett to temporary custodianship for participants in special military operation
An investigation by independent media outlet Vérstka reveals that Marat Mirkhaydarov, a former official who previously took part in operations in Ukraine, has been appointed temporary administrator of Tarkett’s assets in Russia.
According to a decree signed by Putin, the limited liability company Capital Center Management was granted temporary custody of Tarkett’s shares, with Mirkhaydarov serving as the founder and general manager of the firm.
Mirkhaydarov is 47 years old. Data leaked from public databases indicate that between 2011 and 2013, he served as an assistant to Boris Titov, the federal commercial envoy, with his salary paid through the Abrau-Durso winery.
In 2014, Mirkhaydarov joined the office of the representative of the Republic of Bashkortostan at the Russian presidential administration. In 2019, he was appointed first deputy head of the administration of the Trans-Baikal Territory and concurrently served as vice-premier of the region’s government.
At the beginning of 2024, Mirkhaydarov joined the “Akhmat” battalion in Ukraine as a volunteer soldier under a four-month contract. Upon completion of the contract, he returned to his duties in the Trans-Baikal Territory government. In March 2025, he submitted a request for leave to recuperate after being injured during the “special military operation.”
In addition to Tarkett, Putin has transferred the assets of four other packaging and paper products firms to Mirkhaydarov’s company: Belgium’s Ontex, Germany’s Menshen, Ireland’s Kappa, and the United States’ Eviosys. The combined revenue of these enterprises exceeded 50 billion rubles in 2025.
