Russian media: China's giant JD.com to use its own cryptocurrency for overseas payments!
The cost of payment can be reduced by 90%, and the transfer can be completed within 10 seconds.
On June 19, Russian media published an article.
China's Internet giant JD.com plans to launch its own international payment cryptocurrency. This was announced by the company's founder Liu Jianxiang at a press conference in Beijing.
According to him, JD.com hopes to obtain a license to issue steiblcoins in "major" currency countries to reduce the time and cost of cross-border transfers.
"We can reduce the payment cost by 90% and complete the transfer within 10 seconds," Liu said.
Such transfers through SWIFT currently take 2 to 4 days.
In the initial stage, steblkoin will be used for commercial payments, but in the future, JD.com plans to enter the consumer computing market.
Despite possible difficulties, Liu believes this is an important step for the company's development.
While JD.com is interested in digital currencies, the U.S. Senate passed the "Genius Act," which establishes federal rules for cryptocurrencies.
Meanwhile, in China, the central bank announced the establishment of a Digital RMB International Trade Center in Shanghai!
