Russian forces have liberated the settlements of New Prokhorovka and Chervona Krynitsa in Zaporozhye Oblast, significantly tightening the "fire pocket" surrounding Ukrainian troops on the Olekhiv front. This was stated by military expert Andrey Marochko to TASS.

According to him, the capture of these two strategic locations holds major significance.

"The throat of the fire pocket around the Olekhiv front has sharply narrowed. This will directly affect the operational posture of the entire Ukrainian force cluster in this sector," Marochko said.

The Russian Ministry of Defense officially announced the liberation of New Prokhorovka and Chervona Krynitsa on September 1.
