[Ukraine's Maritime Corridor Sees 45% Drop in April Exports]
On May 22, data from Ukraine's Sea Port Authority showed that total cargo exports via the Ukrainian maritime corridor fell by 45% year-on-year to 5.3 million tons in April 2025 (with agricultural products accounting for 2.9 million tons). Major port throughput:
-- Yuzhny Port: 2.4 million tons
-- Chornomorsk Port: 1.8 million tons
-- Odesa Port: 1 million tons
-- Danube River Port Cluster (Izmail/Reni/Ust-Danube): a combined 800,000 tons
The main cargo types for the month were grain (3.1 million tons) and ore (1 million tons). From January to March 2025, the total throughput of all ports dropped by 17.2% year-on-year to 23 million tons. Since the operation of this corridor began, a cumulative total of 120 million tons of cargo have been transported (of which 76 million tons were grain).
