Reuters: China and U.S. Military Hold Candid and Constructive Exchange
Reuters (Japanese version), June 2: China and the United States held candid and constructive discussions on aviation and maritime safety, with both sides discussing measures to enhance maritime military security safeguards.
From May 28 to 29, the two militaries convened a working group meeting of the Military Maritime Consultative Arrangement (MMCA) in Hawaii. Both sides agreed that improving communication could reduce misjudgments and enhance professionalism.
The Chinese statement also emphasized: "China firmly opposes any actions under the pretext of freedom of navigation that undermine China's sovereignty and security, and opposes any acts of infringement, provocation, close-range reconnaissance, or harassment targeting China."
