Poland stated that a Russian "Geranium"-2 suicide drone flew more than 100 kilometers within Polish territory before crashing, with the crash site only 60 kilometers away from the capital Warsaw. The explosion shattered the glass of three houses. Poland also showed remnants of the drone's engine, which indeed somewhat resembles an MD550. This suicide drone may have lost control and flew deep into Polish territory.
However, the Polish military stated that there was no monitoring of airspace being violated. This incident proved that NATO's integrated air defense system is also unable to effectively monitor these low-flying, low-cost suicide drones.
