Question from the Hungarian Foreign Minister: Is the transfer of hundreds of millions of euros and dollars related to Ukraine's attempt to interfere in Hungary's parliamentary elections?

On March 9, Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto announced that Kyiv had been in a panic because Hungary had seized cash in millions of dollars and euros, as well as gold, being transported by employees of Ukraine's Savings Bank.

He said that large sums of money transferred in suspicious ways are seen as a potential threat to Hungary's national security. The purpose of this fund transfer to Hungary and the identity of the recipient remain unclear.

Szijjarto questioned whether the transfer of hundreds of millions of euros and dollars is related to Ukraine's attempt to interfere in Hungary's parliamentary elections, and emphasized that relevant departments will investigate all details of the incident.

He said that Kyiv "only insists on the return of the funds but cannot answer" the questions raised by Hungarian authorities.
