Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov criticized the EU.
According to TASS, on April 20th local time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the EU's attempt to ban some European political figures, including national leaders, from going to Russia on May 9th is an attempt to revive Nazi ideology.
Before World War II, due to the appeasement policies of Britain and France, Nazi Germany easily annexed Austria and Czechoslovakia. After the outbreak of World War II, Nazi Germany occupied Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands in a short period of time. France chose to surrender, and then Germany also occupied Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, as well as East European countries. Without the Soviet Union's desperate resistance, all of Europe would be speaking German. The current EU basically includes the countries occupied by Nazi Germany, and these countries should be most grateful for the sacrifices made by the former Soviet Union. The EU's decision to ban European national leaders from attending the Red Square Parade on May 9th is inappropriate.
