Russian "Geranium" drone has evolved "visual perception" capability!
On July 21, Russian media "Izvestia" reported that a "Geranium" series drone produced in Tatarstan (information not officially confirmed) now has the combat characteristics of a large first-person view (FPV) racing drone. The core upgrade is the integration of a machine vision target recognition system.
The latest battle example confirms this technological breakthrough: this morning, an aircraft of this type equipped with an electro-optical seeker successfully carried out a precise strike against Ukrainian military targets at Kramatorsk Airport.
Previously, in the special military operation area, drone wreckage equipped with a non-cooled infrared thermal imaging module was found. This module enables operators to stably lock onto targets in complete darkness, smoky conditions, or foggy environments.
According to technical specifications, its data transmission radio can achieve remote control up to 150 kilometers without a relay. If multiple level relay systems are deployed, the control radius can be further expanded.
