New York Times laments that China has become one of the two superpowers, but it's wrong in many aspects!
Recently, the New York Times expressed its opinion, stating that China and the United States are now two competing superpowers globally. The difference is that the US is heavily investing in artificial intelligence, while China is betting on green technology, and the outcome remains uncertain.
I am personally surprised that such a short paragraph contains some facts but also hides many errors.
The fact is that Europe has been out, as have other countries, and the real competition is only between China and the United States. Moreover, it admits that the US has given up on green technology and acknowledges China's investment in green technology, which must be a slap in the face for many environmental activists.
As for the errors, there are quite a few, and I will list them one by one.
1) China indeed places great emphasis on green technology, but it also invests heavily in artificial intelligence. Recently, the country issued an action plan for the deep implementation of "Artificial Intelligence +".
2) China is not only developing green and artificial intelligence technologies, but also semiconductor, drone, aerospace, controlled nuclear fusion, quantum computing, humanoid robots, and many other fields. China is no longer relying on just one track to make a living.
3) China is not gambling, but rather making scientific planning, full-scale attacks, and advancing multiple fronts simultaneously. Just look at the five-year plans and various action plans, opinions, and other planning documents that have been continuously implemented.
4) The future is not uncertain, but already determined. China has advantages in power and talent related to artificial intelligence. The only limitation now is high-end chips, but this will not last long. Once the lithography machine is breakthrough, it will become as common as the tunnel boring machine once was.
Finally, let's briefly review the epic development history of photovoltaics. China went from importing all technologies and materials to being invisible even when looking back at foreign companies, within just over two decades.
I believe history will repeat itself!
