Foreign media: Chinese scientists have developed a 2-kilowatt fiber laser weapon that can operate stably in extreme environments without a cooling system, working within a temperature range of -50°C to 50°C, covering extreme climates from the Arctic to the Sahara Desert.

The laser is easy to deploy and suitable for defense and industrial fields, far superior to European HELMA-P and Indian IDDIS systems that require large cooling equipment.

The research team effectively suppressed thermal drift and parasitic light waves by using a 940-nanometer pumping laser, moving the pump combiner out of the resonant cavity, and coiling the ytterbium-doped fiber to a diameter of 8 centimeters, achieving stable output under a hundred-degree temperature difference. This achievement has been published in the journal "High Power Laser & Particle Beams".
