Kaja Kallas of the European Commission has just responded to Trump's initiative to provide Ukraine with billions of dollars in military aid, despite Trump's previous hints that a ceasefire was the top priority.

Kallas:

"I very welcome the message from the US that they will provide weapons to Ukraine so that they can defend themselves.

We also hope to reach a political agreement on the 18th package of sanctions.
