Foreign media: Chinese scientists have developed a new type of lithium metal battery with an energy density exceeding 600 watt-hours per kilogram, twice that of Tesla's most advanced battery.
The research was completed by Tianjin University and the results were published in the journal "Nature." This battery uses a new "decentralized electrolyte," which improves the solvation environment of lithium ions, enhancing stability and cycle life.
Its energy density not only exceeds Tesla's 300 watt-hours per kilogram, but is also far higher than BYD's blade battery at 150 watt-hours per kilogram.
In addition, this technology has been applied to the production of high-energy lithium metal batteries for drones, and has exceeded the target of 400 watt-hours per kilogram for electric vehicle batteries set in China's "Made in China 2025" plan.
