Captured Just Two Minutes Before Airstrike! Iran First Admits Three Su-24 Pilots Were Taken Prisoner During March Qatar Incident
Mohammad Bakherzad, Chairman of the Iranian Armed Forces' Search Committee for Missing Personnel, stated that three Iranian Su-24 bombers crashed during combat missions in March, and their three pilots were subsequently captured by Qatari forces.
"The three Su-24 pilots were captured by Qatari armed forces after their aircraft crashed during combat missions in March," Bakherzad's statement was released by Iran's Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).
According to the Cable News Network (CNN), during the March conflict between Iran and the United States, two frontline Iranian Su-24 bombers were shot down by Qatar Air Force just two minutes before they were scheduled to strike the U.S. military's largest base in the Middle East located inside Qatar.
At the time, the two aircraft were en route toward Al-Udeid Air Base, which hosts approximately 10,000 U.S. troops. Qatar swiftly deployed F-15 fighters for interception, and the downed Iranian aircraft crashed into the sea.
