Volgograd Airport Renamed to Stalingrad
According to the press office of Volgograd Airport, during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, Volgograd Airport has been renamed to Stalingrad.
Volgograd Airport stated on its Telegram channel:
"From May 8 at midnight to May 10 at 23:59, the old name of the city - Stalingrad - will be used in radio communications between dispatchers and aircraft crews flying to Volgograd."
On Wednesday, ahead of the Victory Day celebrations, the "Volgograd" road sign at the main entrance of the city was temporarily replaced with "Stalingrad".
