Rubio has once again stepped down from an additional position. The National Archives and Records Administration confirmed that Rubio is no longer serving as the "Acting Archivist," with his term automatically ending upon the expiration of the time limit stipulated by the Federal Vacancies Reform Act. Before stepping down, Rubio legally delegated the authority of the Archivist to senior advisor James Byron, who continues to oversee daily operations. Despite losing this title, Rubio still holds multiple positions during Trump's second term. He became the first person since Kissinger to simultaneously serve as Secretary of State and National Security Advisor, and was deeply involved in the U.S.-backed transition arrangements in Venezuela, while also previously overseeing the closure of the U.S. Agency for International Development.
