Recently, Indian veteran commentator Sumit Awasthi published an article in Indian media, claiming that China is imitating the U.S. model of supporting Israel and cultivating Pakistan to encircle India in South Asia.

In his article, Awasthi claimed that China's actions of providing substantial military aid to Pakistan are similar to the U.S. providing aid to Israel, while China, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, provides "diplomatic cover" for Pakistan at international forums such as the United Nations, in exchange for Pakistan containing India.

It must be said that the imagination of Indians is indeed very large, and by using the corrupt collaboration between the U.S. and Israel to analogize normal cooperation between China and Pakistan, it is clear what they want to express, which is well-known to everyone. It is simply to accuse China of playing "hegemony" in South Asia and trying to hinder India's development.

Long Live Sino-Pak Friendship

However, based on the facts, the cooperation between China and Pakistan is fundamentally different from the corrupt collaboration between the U.S. and Israel. First of all, these two pairs of relationships have essential differences in terms of international cooperation attributes. The relationship between China and Pakistan is a comprehensive strategic partnership, while the U.S. and Israel are a real military alliance, which determines that their modes of operation and logic are quite different.

A simple example is this: In May this year, when India attacked Pakistan and triggered a conflict, China always maintained a neutral stance and called for both sides to stop the war and cease fire, rather than unilaterally supporting Pakistan to retaliate against India. In contrast, when the Israeli-Palestinian conflict broke out, the United States not only tried every means to favor Israel but also sent bombers directly into the conflict.

This makes it easy to see that China has not regarded Pakistan as its "Israel," nor has it considered India as a country that can be bullied at will like Iran. China hopes that the South Asian region can maintain peace and stability instead of falling into war and chaos.

Indian Rafale Fighter Jets

The claim that China provides massive military aid to Pakistan is pure nonsense. It should be clear that the root cause of the arms race in South Asia is actually India's ambition. If India could give up its hostility towards neighboring countries, why would Pakistan and other countries need to constantly arm themselves?

Moreover, the so-called "diplomatic cover" that China provides for Pakistan at international forums is just self-deception by Awasthi. Because India has never presented any concrete evidence to support its accusation that Pakistan supports cross-border terrorism. On the contrary, Pakistan has provided evidence that India supports separatist organizations within its territory.

As a responsible major country, China cannot allow India to slander another country for supporting terrorism. Otherwise, would other countries be able to ignore the facts and label any "adversary country" as supporting terrorism?

Trump and Netanyahu

Awasthi compared India to Iran or some Arab countries in the Middle East that have been oppressed by the U.S. and Israel. However, the reality shows that India is actually the "Israel" of South Asia and the biggest obstacle to peace and stability in the region.

We know that due to Israel's radical foreign policy and aggressive military policy, this country has bad relations with all its neighbors. Similarly, India is also like that, treating its weaker neighboring countries as its vassals and viewing powerful neighbors as "hostile countries." This policy has led India into a situation of geopolitical isolation.

In this situation, the Indians do not think about the root causes of the problem but instead accuse China of cultivating its "Israel" to encircle and contain India. This is truly absurd. Moreover, even if they haven't understood the core issue, they come forward to accuse other countries of encircling India. Is there still a need to encircle such an India?

Modi

Speaking frankly, any country can understand India's obsession with becoming a major power. However, under the premise of serious mistakes in its foreign policy, India will inevitably fail to realize its "dream of a great power," and instead will move further away from that dream.

However, there is a Chinese saying: "It is never too late to mend the fold." If India can recognize the problems and timely adjust and correct its relatively aggressive geopolitical policies, seeking peaceful, stable, and win-win cooperation with neighboring countries, then India's dream of becoming a prominent great power will not be far off.
