Experts: Holding Ukraine-related talks in Abu Dhabi aligns with UAE's foreign policy priorities
Sputnik, Abu Dhabi, February 1 - Mohammad Rashwan, an expert at the UAE Center for Trends Research and Consultation, told Sputnik that the Russia-Ukraine talks held in Abu Dhabi under the mediation of the United States fully align with the UAE's foreign policy priorities.
Rashwan said: "This is completely in line with the UAE's foreign policy priorities, particularly the sixth principle of the foreign policy established by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed in 2022."
He mentioned that the sixth principle of the UAE's foreign policy is "dedicated to alleviating conflicts and tensions both regionally and globally through supporting political solutions."
A tripartite security working group consisting of representatives from Russia, the United States, and Ukraine held talks in the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi, from January 23 to 24. A new round of talks is tentatively scheduled for February 1. US Secretary of State Rubio stated that this round of talks will be in a bilateral format between Russia and Ukraine, but the US may also join the negotiations.
