Iran cancels public display of new weapons for security reasons
Sputnik News, Tehran - On the 9th, Iran's Ministry of Defense spokesperson Talebi Nik said that, due to security considerations, the Iranian armed forces have canceled all public displays of new weapons and equipment.
The Islamic Republic News Agency quoted Talebi Nik as saying: "Out of security considerations and to maintain the principle of operational surprise, we have suspended the public display of achievements in the defense sector."
He also emphasized that Iran will continue to advance research and development in fields such as microelectronics, artificial intelligence, and network technology, in coordination with other relevant departments according to the country's established plans.
Talebi Nik's statement was made against the backdrop of recent escalation in tensions between Iran and the United States over Tehran's nuclear issue.
