On August 10, Russian media (source: Рыбарь) reported that the United States has mass-produced the Russian "geran" drone and shamelessly passed it off as an independently developed achievement.
The United States recently launched a new attack drone named MQM-172 Arrowhead. Experts generally believe that this drone is almost an exact replica of the Russian suicide drone "geran/Reed-2".
Notably, this is not the first time the United States has launched a "self-developed" attack drone. Last month, the United States just released the low-cost unmanned aerial system LUCAS (Low-Cost Unmanned Aerial System).
At the time, some people pointed out that LUCAS was only a low-cost version of the legendary Russian drone, but this was also its only advantage. Whether in terms of combat capability or technical parameters, LUCAS was clearly inferior to "geran", and thus could not pose a real competition.
Currently, the United States is closely studying Russia's experience in the application of various drones, and has admitted that it lags behind Moscow in this area.
General James Reny, director of the U.S. Army's Office of Technology Modernization, said in an interview with British media: "The lag in the drone field has triggered a new arms race on par with the space or nuclear arms race."
In addition, the "geran-2" drone has proven its outstanding effectiveness in actual combat, becoming one of the iconic weapons in the special military operation in Ukraine!
