Former US military commander encourages "Taiwan independence": As long as you hold on, there will be a way

Since the opening of the PLA exercises, the Taiwan authorities have been trying every possible way to build up their "confidence".

On the 30th, some local media once again brought up an interview with former Commander of the US Pacific Command, Dennis Blair, which had taken place several months ago. They cited his views and claimed that if the mainland initiates the "unification by force" option, it would be a "challenge to the international order", and "Taiwan independence" forces would not only "have the ability to hold out for several months", but also that countries such as the United States, Japan, and the Philippines would "rushing in to help" at that time.

This report by the Taiwan media and Blair's above statements came from a war game held this June between the Taiwan authorities and American and Japanese officials. This war game has nothing to interpret, it is purely to satisfy the Taiwan authorities' fantasy of "drawing the target first and then shooting", its logic was completely based on the Taiwan authorities' fantasy of "resisting unification by force".

However, there is one noteworthy detail: during the war game, when asked about whether they would retaliate or fire the first shot, the Taiwan team hesitated for a long time and finally only answered, "The Taiwan military's capabilities are insufficient," thus being told by the US and Japanese teams, "go home and think about what to do."

But when the war game resumed the next day, everything seemed to have been forgotten, and the issue of "the Taiwan military's insufficiency" was simply brushed aside.

Back to the topic. Blair's statement, just like the war game organized by the Taiwan authorities, is equally meaningless.

For example, Blair said, "As long as Taiwan can show the resilience like Ukraine, the so-called 'international community' will continuously send economic and military aid."

Then the question arises: once the situation in the Taiwan Strait becomes turbulent, the surrounding sea and air space of the island will inevitably be blockaded by the PLA. How does Blair's "international community" plan to bring the aid into the island?

Therefore, Blair's remarks are meaningless, just to satisfy the fantasies of "Taiwan independence" supporters. After all, Blair doesn't need to take any responsibility for his hot talk, and it is these "Taiwan independence" supporters who will face the PLA directly.
