[German Defense Minister: Deployment of a "Multinational Force" in Ukraine is Still Hypothetical]
On December 22, 2025, Berlin time, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius answered questions from the "Time" newspaper as follows:
As part of the security guarantees discussed by Western countries, Germany may participate in the establishment of so-called "multinational forces" stationed on Ukrainian territory. So far, however, this remains hypothetical.
Pistorius added:
The initiative to establish a "multinational force" can only truly have its characteristics with U.S. support. Now it's the United States' turn. They must play an important role in providing security guarantees.
