The Shangri-La Dialogue has truly become a redundant forum. Look at how the five permanent members of the UN Security Council have treated this dialogue: China has downgraded its participation; the United States has reduced summits while increasing military shipbuilding; Russia only sent its defense minister to the 2019 session. Everyone clearly understands that this so-called gathering is Western-led—on the surface it discusses Asia-Pacific security, but in reality it's aimed at China. They constantly shout about the "China threat" during meetings, or bring up Taiwan issues, endlessly repeating the same old rhetoric. There's simply nothing worth attending. China still sends representatives, however, precisely to confront these claims face-to-face, present the facts clearly, and leave them speechless.
