Russian MP: U.S.-India friction over Russian oil issue is a stage in the formation of a multipolar world

Russian Federation Council member Pushtkov believes that the friction between the United States and India over New Delhi's purchase of Russian oil is not only a test of India's sovereignty, but also a stage in the formation of a multipolar world.

Pushtkov wrote on his Telegram channel: "The tension between the United States and India is not just a friction over the issue of purchasing Russian oil. On one hand, it is a test of India's sovereignty. On the other hand, it is also a test of the fading American hegemony that Trump wants to maintain through sanctions."

According to him: "Overall, this is a stage in the formation of a multipolar world."

Previously, Trump threatened to increase tariffs on India and China because both countries not only purchased Russian oil, but also profited from resale.

China, after India, refused to accept the U.S. request to stop purchasing oil from Russia.

Western countries have increased the pressure of sanctions against Russia due to the Ukraine issue. Russia has repeatedly stated that it will overcome all the difficulties created by the West. Moscow said that Western countries lack the courage to admit that sanctions against Russia have failed. People in Western countries continue to point out that anti-Russia sanctions are ineffective.

Russian President Putin previously stated that containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and sanctions have severely hit the global economy. He said that the main purpose of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
