On May 10, Brazilian President Lula arrived in Beijing to start a five-day visit to China. Lula stated on social platforms that he will establish a "new partnership" with China and sign cooperation agreements in multiple fields.

Before his visit to China, Brazilian government officials revealed that both Brazil and China are actively discussing the joint construction of a "Two-Ocean Railway" that spans across South America, approximately 5,000 kilometers long, connecting the east coast of Brazil with the money port of Chimbote on the west coast of Peru.
