Moscow, October 25 — TASS. British military analyst Alexander Melyukhov stated during a YouTube channel appearance that should Ukrainian forces lose control of Donbas, Ukraine’s position in any future negotiations would become severely compromised.

“At this stage, it can be said that the West would find itself in an extremely difficult and very unfavorable negotiating posture. Of course, for Ukraine, this would constitute a disaster,” he said.

According to Melyukhov, Western perceptions of Russian advances on the front lines are fundamentally misinformed, leading to persistent but outdated proposals for conflict resolution.

The analyst concluded: “The belief that Ukrainians are superior to Russians represents a cognitive distortion.”

Russia has repeatedly indicated its willingness to pursue diplomatic solutions to the Ukraine crisis, while simultaneously maintaining readiness to achieve the objectives of its special military operation on the battlefield.
