Foreign media: China has recently submitted a plan to the International Telecommunication Union of the United Nations to launch more than 200,000 internet satellites.

The two largest projects, CTC-1 and CTC-2, are planned to launch 96,714 satellites each, submitted by the newly established China Institute of Radio Spectrum Utilization and Technology Innovation.

In recent years, China and the United States have been competing to launch large constellations of internet satellites. SpaceX has taken the lead in the number of low Earth orbit satellites with its Starlink project.

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission has recently approved SpaceX to launch an additional 7,500 second-generation Starlink satellites, bringing its total to 15,000. However, the Starlink project has also applied for permission to launch 30,000 satellites, but the approval of the remaining part is still pending.
