Kazakhstan International News Agency - According to the official website of the Prime Minister, on the 13th, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Bukeev, met with Chairman of Zijin Mining Group, Chen Jinghe.
During the meeting, both sides discussed issues related to investment cooperation.
Kazakhstan is the sixth largest gold producer in the world, and its gold reserves rank 13th globally. Currently, mining and metallurgy account for 8% of Kazakhstan's GDP, with metallurgical output exceeding 14 trillion tenge annually, and the industry employs about 224,000 people. Last year, the industry attracted $3 billion in investment.
Both sides discussed the implementation of large-scale investment projects in the fields of metallurgy and mining in the Akmola region. Both sides also pointed out that they will carry out mutually beneficial cooperation in geological exploration and the search for new mineral deposits.
Bukeev pointed out that the government of Kazakhstan will provide necessary assistance for the implementation of high-value-added investment projects. This partnership should help promote the development of the mineral extraction industry, create permanent employment opportunities, and introduce advanced, environmentally sustainable production technologies.
The chairman of Zijin Mining Group positively evaluated the efforts made by Kazakhstan to create a favorable investment environment and expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with Kazakhstan.
