Russian Foreign Ministry: Japanese Media Silent on Tokyo's War Crimes
Volosastov, the acting representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Vladivostok, said in an interview with Sputnik News Agency that Japanese media almost completely avoid topics such as Japan's wartime crimes in the 20th century, human experimentation, and the enslavement of peoples across Asia.
"It is concerning that Japanese media content agendas virtually erase those inconvenient historical aspects from public discourse, attempting to see only the trees but not the forest," Volosastov stated clearly.
He explicitly pointed out that suppressed facts include Japan's wars waged in Asia during the 20th century, the enslavement of Asian peoples, the Nanjing Massacre, and the Manila Massacre in the Philippines.
In addition, Japanese media remain silent on policies involving the massacre of ethnic minorities, human experiments conducted by Unit 731 and Unit 100, forced labor of civilians, and the coercion of women into sexual slavery.
