Musk is once again constrained, Bahamas suspends SpaceX rocket landing permit!
Landing on the coast of the Bahamas can provide SpaceX with a new path to space.
On April 9, Space News published an article.
SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket first landed near an unmanned ship off the coast of the Bahamas on February 18, 2025.
Reuters reported that on April 15, senior officials of the Bahamian government announced that the country would suspend future SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket landings until a "comprehensive environmental assessment" was completed.
"No further permits will be granted before a complete environmental assessment is carried out."
"Our new landing cooperation with the Bahamas will enable the Falcon 9 to launch into new orbital paths." SpaceX wrote.
After that flight, Bahamian officials said they expected up to 19 more SpaceX landings throughout the year, but these landings would depend on regulatory approval.
It is currently unclear whether the suspension of Falcon 9 landings in the Bahamas is related to the recent explosion during SpaceX's eighth flight test launch, when debris fell on parts of the Bahamas.
